thanks. and giving too.
man, i look back over the past year and i have so stinkin much to be thankful for. last thanksgiving, i came home and was sliding into the depths of depression. i was teaching in a tough high school in charleston, and felt utterly alone there. by the beginning of december, i was in the psych ward downtown. i started drinking a lot to cope and it became a problem, and i felt lost. since that time, my parents graciously brought me, broken and sick, back into their home near charlotte, cared for me and encouraged me, and helped me to get healthy again. i found a wonderful church, eternal, with a ton of really fun folks who freely love the lord and one another. fellowship is just one of those things people can't live without, even depressed people who want to crawl into a hole somewhere and die. then, in may i got a great and strange job in a labratory in charlotte. i love telling people that i'm an english major and working in a lab formulating and testing different powdered mixtures. i'm back in school, getting my master's, which is really fun and satisfying. i started a dream, pink paint press, and though it goes slowly, it's wonderful and exciting. and i found a great girl, who laughs a lot, and encourages me, and is sweet, and i think that she really loves me. then, my mom miraculously recovered from her cancer. my cup runneth over. god has taken a washed up boy, and given him new gifts to start over with. i'm happy, and very thankful.
